02. Seeing Red

I don’t know anyone who is ambivalent about the color red.  This is the first color we are able to see when we’re infants. The sexes prefer different shades of red from childhood and will hold those preferences throughout their lives. And each person’s association to this rosy hue is almost as unique as their fingerprint. How do you feel when you’re seeing red? Loved, scared, lucky, excited, hungry? Yikes! It’s good to know your audience when using this color in interiors.  No matter how it’s used, red stands out and makes people take notice. Since a little goes a long way, it makes a great accent color. Or be bold and make a statement. Just use it for good, not evil.
